Sept 11: Daily briefing on novel coronavirus cases in China

On Sept 10, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland reported 234 new cases of confirmed infections (55 imported cases, 19 in Guangdong province, 14 in Shanghai municipality, 8 in Fujian province, 3 in Beijing municipality, 3 in Inner Mongolia autonomous region, 2 in Heilongjiang province, 2 in Shandong province, 1 in Tianjin municipality, 1 in Jiangsu province, 1 in Sichuan province and 1 in Yunnan province, including 2 confirmed cases converting from asymptomatic cases, 1 in Guangdong province and 1 in Sichuan province; 179 indigenous cases, 97 in Sichuan province, 21 in Inner Mongolia autonomous region, 16 in Tibet autonomous region, 15 in Guangdong province, 9 in Shandong province, 8 in Beijing municipality, 3 in Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region, 2 in Chongqing municipality, 2 in Guizhou province, 2 in Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region, 1 in Tianjin municipality, 1 in Shanghai municipality, 1 in Yunnan province and 1 in Qinghai province, including 17 confirmed cases converting from asymptomatic cases, 11 in Sichuan province, 4 in Inner Mongolia autonomous region and 2 in Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region), no deaths, and no new cases of suspected infections.

On Sept 10, 399 patients were released from hospital after being cured (48 imported cases; 351 indigenous cases, 136 in Hainan province, 69 in Sichuan province, 57 in Tibet autonomous region, 25 in Guangdong province, 16 in Heilongjiang province, 13 in Shaanxi province, 5 in Shanxi province, 5 in Henan province, 3 in Beijing municipality, 3 in Liaoning province, 3 in Shandong province, 3 in Chongqing municipality, 2 in Tianjin municipality, 2 in Inner Mongolia autonomous region, 2 in Fujian province, 2 in Jiangxi province, 2 in Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region, 1 in Shanghai municipality, 1 in Zhejiang province and 1 in Qinghai province). 36,425 people who had had close contact with infected patients were freed from medical observation. The number of serious cases decreased by 2.

As of 24:00 on Sept 10, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland had reported 23,012 cases of imported confirmed infections and no deaths. In all, 22,445 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 567 confirmed cases (no cases in serious condition) and no suspected cases.

As of 24:00 on Sept 10, the National Health Commission had received reports of 246,852 confirmed cases and 5,226 deaths in 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland, and in all 235,656 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 5,970 confirmed cases (including 24 cases in serious condition) and no suspected cases. 5,680,863 people had been identified as having had close contact with infected patients. 255,050 were still under medical observation.

On Sept 10, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland reported 1,069 new asymptomatic cases (110 imported cases; 959 indigenous cases, 251 in Tibet autonomous region, 122 in Guizhou province, 90 in Sichuan province, 87 in Heilongjiang province, 69 in Jiangxi province, 60 in Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region, 55 in Shandong province, 45 in Hubei province, 38 in Liaoning province, 32 in Inner Mongolia autonomous region, 26 in Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region, 24 in Shaanxi province, 12 in Gansu province, 12 in Qinghai province, 10 in Guangdong province, 7 in Shanghai municipality, 5 in Tianjin municipality, 4 in Jilin province, 3 in Hainan province, 2 in Beijing municipality, 2 in Yunnan province, 1 in Jiangsu province, 1 in Zhejiang province and 1 in Henan province).

On Sept 10, 1,099 asymptomatic cases were freed from medical observation (52 imported cases; 1,047 indigenous cases, 267 in Hainan province, 259 in Tibet autonomous region, 120 in Qinghai province, 63 in Henan province, 55 in Heilongjiang province, 41 in Liaoning province, 40 in Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region, 27 in Shaanxi province, 26 in Shandong province, 25 in Sichuan province, 24 in Hubei province, 19 in Gansu province, 16 in Jiangxi province, 15 in Hebei province, 12 in Guangdong province, 8 in Chongqing municipality, 6 in Shanxi province, 5 in Tianjin municipality, 4 in Anhui province, 4 in Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region, 3 in Jiangsu province, 2 in Inner Mongolia autonomous region, 2 in the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps, 1 in Jilin province, 1 in Shanghai municipality, 1 in Fujian province and 1 in Guizhou province). 19 asymptomatic cases became confirmed cases (including 2 imported cases). As of 24:00 on Sept 10, 23,264 asymptomatic cases were still under medical observation (including 709 imported cases).

As of 24:00 on Sept 10, 6,049,828 confirmed infections had been reported in the Hong Kong and Macao special administrative regions and Taiwan province: 399,007 in Hong Kong (9,788 had died and 78,329 had been cured and discharged from hospital), 793 in Macao (6 had died and 787 had been cured and discharged from hospital) and 5,650,028 in Taiwan (10,255 had died and 13,742 had been cured and discharged from hospital).
