The Longmen Grottoes in Henan province are a treasure trove of Chinese grotto art, dating back over 1,500 years. They house more than 100,000 Buddhist statues with more than 2,300 Buddhist caves. The site was inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List in 2000.
