Sept 2: Daily briefing on novel coronavirus cases in China

On Sept 1, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland reported 373 new cases of confirmed infections (55 imported cases, 17 in Fujian province, 16 in Guangdong province, 9 in Sichuan province, 7 in Shanghai municipality, 2 in Heilongjiang province, 1 in Beijing municipality, 1 in Jilin province, 1 in Jiangsu province and 1 in Zhejiang province, including 4 confirmed cases converting from asymptomatic cases, 2 in Guangdong province and 2 in Sichuan province; 318 indigenous cases, 128 in Sichuan province, 55 in Guangdong province, 46 in Tibet autonomous region, 27 in Hainan province, 11 in Heilongjiang province, 8 in Chongqing municipality, 8 in Shaanxi province, 5 in Liaoning province, 5 in Qinghai province, 4 in Hebei province, 4 in Shandong province, 4 in Henan province, 4 in Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region, 2 in Inner Mongolia autonomous region, 2 in Zhejiang province, 1 in Beijing municipality, 1 in Tianjin municipality, 1 in Jilin province, 1 in Shanghai municipality and 1 in Yunnan province, including 46 confirmed cases converting from asymptomatic cases, 13 in Hainan province, 9 in Sichuan province, 4 in Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region, 3 in Liaoning province, 3 in Heilongjiang province, 3 in Henan province, 3 in Shaanxi province, 2 in Guangdong province, 2 in Tibet autonomous region, 1 in Zhejiang province, 1 in Shandong province, 1 in Yunnan province and 1 in Qinghai province), no deaths, and no new cases of suspected infections.

On Sept 1, 483 patients were released from hospital after being cured (44 imported cases; 439 indigenous cases, 300 in Hainan province, 59 in Tibet autonomous region, 14 in Guangdong province, 13 in Sichuan province, 10 in Zhejiang province, 10 in Chongqing municipality, 8 in Shaanxi province, 6 in Fujian province, 5 in Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region, 4 in Inner Mongolia autonomous region, 3 in Qinghai province, 2 in Henan province, 1 in Shanxi province, 1 in Shanghai municipality, 1 in Jiangxi province, 1 in Hunan province and 1 in Yunnan province). 22,947 people who had had close contact with infected patients were freed from medical observation. The number of serious cases decreased by 3.

As of 24:00 on Sept 1, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland had reported 22,544 cases of imported confirmed infections and no deaths. In all, 22,014 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 530 confirmed cases (no cases in serious condition) and no suspected cases.

As of 24:00 on Sept 1, the National Health Commission had received reports of 243,822 confirmed cases and 5,226 deaths in 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland, and in all 232,408 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 6,188 confirmed cases (including 31 cases in serious condition) and no suspected cases. 5,389,219 people had been identified as having had close contact with infected patients. 269,779 were still under medical observation.

On Sept 1, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland reported 1,665 new asymptomatic cases (98 imported cases; 1,567 indigenous cases, 575 in Tibet autonomous region, 207 in Heilongjiang province, 125 in Qinghai province, 114 in Liaoning province, 77 in Sichuan province, 75 in Hainan province, 53 in Shandong province, 46 in Henan province, 42 in Gansu province, 41 in Guangdong province, 40 in Jilin province, 34 in Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region, 32 in Tianjin municipality, 32 in Hebei province, 24 in Jiangxi province, 20 in Hubei province, 8 in Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region, 6 in Inner Mongolia autonomous region, 5 in Shaanxi province, 3 in Zhejiang province, 3 in Guizhou province, 2 in Jiangsu province, 2 in Chongqing municipality and 1 in Yunnan province).

On Sept 1, 1,052 asymptomatic cases were freed from medical observation (96 imported cases; 956 indigenous cases, 372 in Hainan province, 237 in Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region, 152 in Tibet autonomous region, 30 in the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps, 24 in Qinghai province, 20 in Jiangxi province, 18 in Shaanxi province, 14 in Henan province, 13 in Hubei province, 12 in Zhejiang province, 12 in Gansu province, 9 in Hebei province, 8 in Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region, 6 in Heilongjiang province, 4 in Shandong province, 4 in Chongqing municipality, 4 in Sichuan province, 3 in Jiangsu province, 3 in Guangdong province, 2 in Inner Mongolia autonomous region, 2 in Anhui province, 2 in Fujian province, 2 in Yunnan province, 1 in Liaoning province, 1 in Jilin province and 1 in Shanghai municipality). 50 asymptomatic cases became confirmed cases (including 4 imported cases). As of 24:00 on Sept 1, 24,226 asymptomatic cases were still under medical observation (including 755 imported cases).

As of 24:00 on Sept 1, 5,730,206 confirmed infections had been reported in the Hong Kong and Macao special administrative regions and Taiwan province: 387,307 in Hong Kong (9,701 had died and 75,094 had been cured and discharged from hospital), 793 in Macao (6 had died and 787 had been cured and discharged from hospital) and 5,342,106 in Taiwan (9,950 had died and 13,742 had been cured and discharged from hospital).
