Recently, a group of aerial photos presented the magnificent landscape of the Yezhukou section of the Great Wall in Shenchi county, Shanxi province.
Shanxi is nicknamed "the Great Wall Museum" as it has many Great Wall sections built through a 2,000-year period.
The existing Great Wall was constructed during different periods, including the Northern Qi Dynasty (550-577), the Song Dynasty (960-1279), the Liao Dynasty (916-1125) and the Ming Dynasty (1368-1644). There is more than 20,000 meters of the Great Wall that span the Shenchi county, forming a unique landscape on the Loess Plateau.
The Yezhukou section is an important part of the Great Wall in China and the best preserved rammed earth Great Wall in Shanxi.
