Shanghai exhibit revisits China-Europe tea trade

China is the first country in the world to discover and make use of tea. The Shanghai History Museum unveiled an exhibit on July 28, showcasing the China-Europe tea trade history during the 17th and 19th centuries. There are 145 artifacts on view, including tea specimens, teaware, tea-themed paintings, tea wrapping paper and European coins. They witnessed mutual exchanges between the East and West. The exhibit runs through Oct 30.
