On July 31, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland reported 84 new cases of confirmed infections (51 imported cases, 19 in Guangdong province, 6 in Shanghai municipality, 6 in Sichuan province, 5 in Beijing municipality, 5 in Fujian province, 3 in Shandong province, 2 in Tianjin municipality, 2 in Heilongjiang province, 1 in Shanxi province, 1 in Liaoning province and 1 in Shaanxi province, including 6 confirmed cases converting from asymptomatic cases, 2 in Shandong province, 2 in Guangdong province, 1 in Tianjin municipality and 1 in Sichuan province; 33 indigenous cases, 15 in Gansu province, 9 in Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region, 3 in Sichuan province, 2 in Shandong province, 1 in Beijing municipality, 1 in Inner Mongolia autonomous region, 1 in Fujian province and 1 in Guangdong province, including 17 confirmed cases converting from asymptomatic cases, 11 in Gansu province and 6 in Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region), no deaths, and no new cases of suspected infections.

On July 31, 137 patients were released from hospital after being cured (58 imported cases; 79 indigenous cases, 36 in Gansu province, 27 in Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region, 5 in Anhui province, 5 in Guangdong province, 3 in Shanghai municipality, 1 in Jiangxi province, 1 in Chongqing municipality and 1 in Sichuan province). 10,938 people who had had close contact with infected patients were freed from medical observation. The number of serious cases decreased by 1.

As of 24:00 on July 31, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland had reported 20,726 cases of imported confirmed infections and no deaths. In all, 20,196 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 530 confirmed cases (no serious cases) and no suspected case.

As of 24:00 on July 31, the National Health Commission had received reports of 229,594 confirmed cases and 5,226 deaths in 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland, and in all 222,690 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 1,678 confirmed cases (4 cases in serious condition) and no suspected case. 4,662,984 people had been identified as having had close contact with infected patients. 131,649 were still under medical observation.

On July 31, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland reported 309 new asymptomatic cases (65 imported cases; 244 indigenous cases, 66 in Gansu province, 61 in Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region, 49 in Shandong province, 43 in Henan province, 9 in Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region, 5 in the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps, 4 in Sichuan province, 3 in Inner Mongolia autonomous region, 2 in Yunnan province, 1 in Tianjin municipality and 1 in Guangdong province).

On July 31, 539 asymptomatic cases were freed from medical observation (53 imported cases; 486 indigenous cases, 234 in Gansu province, 118 in Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region, 46 in Anhui province, 32 in Henan province, 21 in Shanghai municipality, 9 in Guangdong province, 8 in Tianjin municipality, 7 in Fujian province, 4 in Jiangsu province, 4 in Jiangxi province, 2 in Yunnan province and 1 in Hainan province). 23 asymptomatic cases became confirmed cases (including 6 imported cases). As of 24:00 on July 31, 6,875 asymptomatic cases were still under medical observation (including 589 imported cases).

As of 24:00 on July 31, 4,944,873 confirmed infections had been reported in the Hong Kong and Macao special administrative regions and Taiwan province: 355,897 in Hong Kong (9,503 had died and 67,730 had been cured and discharged from hospital), 791 in Macao (6 had died and 701 had been cured and discharged from hospital) and 4,588,185 in Taiwan (8,927 had died and 13,742 had been cured and discharged from hospital).
