Dongfeng Citroen unveils compact C5 Beyond SUV

Sino-French carmaker Dongfeng Citroen started presales of compact SUV C5 Beyond on Thursday.

The compact model, priced from 157,700 yuan to 231,700 yuan, is available in three variants.

Measuring 4,510 mm in length, 1,860 mm in width and 1,750 mm in height, the SUV has a wheelbase of 2,730 mm.

The C5 Beyond has two engine options: the 1.6-liter turbocharged engine and the 1.8-liter turbocharged one.

Two powertrain options are available as well. The gasoline version has a maximum output of 155 kW and a top torque of 300 Nm.

For the plug-in hybrid version, it a combined output of 221 kW and a top torque of 520 Nm.

The model sports an interactive system co-developed with Chinese technology company Huawei as well as China Unicom.

The SUV also has augmented-reality navigation and is capable of over-the-air updates, among other features.
