Children's drama in old Beijing folk style to debut

The Beijing Performance & Arts Group announced the debut of their new production on July 14 – the children’s drama Kitty Climbs onto the Roof! To be staged on Aug 4, the drama depicts the jolly childhood of a girl, Yaya, and her friends in an old hutong alley in Beijing during the 1950s. It is filled with nostalgia and local folk style.
The drama is based on the eponymous novel of Ye Guangqin, whose works are known for reflecting traditional Beijing folk culture.
