July 4: Daily briefing on novel coronavirus cases in China

On July 3, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland reported 72 new cases of confirmed infections (31 imported cases, 9 in Guangdong province, 7 in Shanghai municipality, 5 in Fujian province, 2 in Inner Mongolia autonomous region, 2 in Zhejiang province, 1 in Beijing municipality, 1 in Tianjin municipality, 1 in Liaoning province, 1 in Jiangxi province, 1 in Henan province and 1 in Sichuan province, including 7 confirmed cases converting from asymptomatic cases, 4 in Guangdong province, 1 in Tianjin municipality, 1 in Fujian province and 1 in Henan province; 41 indigenous cases, 29 in Anhui province, 4 in Jiangsu province, 4 in Shandong province, 2 in Shanghai municipality, 1 in Fujian province and 1 in Guangdong province, including 2 confirmed cases converting from asymptomatic cases, 1 in Anhui province and 1 in Shandong province), no deaths, and no new cases of suspected infections.

On July 3, 50 patients were released from hospital after being cured (32 imported cases; 18 indigenous cases, 7 in Inner Mongolia autonomous region, 6 in Shanghai municipality and 5 in Beijing municipality). 3,759 people who had had close contact with infected patients were freed from medical observation. The number of serious cases remained the same.

As of 24:00 on July 3, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland had reported 19,485 cases of imported confirmed infections and no deaths. In all, 19,186 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 299 confirmed cases (no serious cases) and no suspected cases.

As of 24:00 on July 3, the National Health Commission had received reports of 225,923 confirmed cases and 5,226 deaths in 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland, and in all 220,165 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 532 confirmed cases (no cases in serious condition) and no suspected cases. 4,282,315 people had been identified as having had close contact with infected patients. 61,500 were still under medical observation.

On July 3, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland reported 388 new asymptomatic cases (49 imported cases; 339 indigenous cases, 258 in Anhui province, 52 in Jiangsu province, 9 in Liaoning province, 9 in Fujian province, 4 in Shandong province, 3 in Shaanxi province, 2 in Zhejiang province, 1 in Shanghai municipality and 1 in Sichuan province).

On July 3, 76 asymptomatic cases were freed from medical observation (53 imported cases; 23 indigenous cases, 7 in Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region, 5 in Liaoning province, 3 in Shanghai municipality, 2 in Hebei province, 2 in Inner Mongolia autonomous region, 2 in Guangdong province, 1 in Jilin province and 1 in Fujian province). 9 asymptomatic cases became confirmed cases (including 7 imported cases). As of 24:00 on July 3, 1,552 asymptomatic cases were still under medical observation (including 398 imported cases).

As of 24:00 on July 3, 4,209,844 confirmed infections had been reported in the Hong Kong and Macao special administrative regions and Taiwan province: 338,934 in Hong Kong (9,405 had died and 64,171 had been cured and discharged from hospital), 382 in Macao (2 had died and 83 had been cured and discharged from hospital) and 3,870,528 in Taiwan (6,956 had died and 13,742 had been cured and discharged from hospital).
