June 13: Daily briefing on novel coronavirus cases in China

On June 12, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland reported 89 new cases of confirmed infections (20 imported cases, 5 in Shaanxi province, 3 in Zhejiang province, 3 in Fujian province, 3 in Guangdong province, 2 in Tianjin municipality, 2 in Shanghai municipality, 1 in Heilongjiang province and 1 in Sichuan province, including 4 confirmed cases converting from asymptomatic cases, 3 in Zhejiang province and 1 in Tianjin municipality; 69 indigenous cases, 29 in Beijing municipality, 27 in Inner Mongolia autonomous region, 11 in Shanghai municipality and 2 in Chongqing municipality, including 2 confirmed cases converting from asymptomatic cases, 1 in Beijing municipality and 1 in Shanghai municipality), no deaths, and no new cases of suspected infections.

On June 12, 66 patients were released from hospital after being cured (17 imported cases; 49 indigenous cases, 28 in Shanghai municipality, 15 in Beijing municipality, 2 in Henan province, 1 in Liaoning province, 1 in Jilin province, 1 in Hubei province and 1 in Sichuan province). 7,363 people who had had close contact with infected patients were freed from medical observation. The number of serious cases decreased by 2.

As of 24:00 on June 12, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland had reported 18,895 cases of imported confirmed infections and no deaths. In all, 18,699 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 196 confirmed cases (no serious cases) and no suspected cases.

As of 24:00 on June 12, the National Health Commission had received reports of 224,882 confirmed cases and 5,226 deaths in 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland, and in all 218,770 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 886 confirmed cases (including 19 cases in serious condition) and no suspected cases. 4,172,550 people had been identified as having had close contact with infected patients. 114,850 were still under medical observation.

On June 12, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland reported 131 new asymptomatic cases (57 imported cases; 74 indigenous cases, 26 in Shanghai municipality, 22 in Beijing municipality, 13 in Inner Mongolia autonomous region, 4 in Jilin province, 3 in Yunnan province, 2 in Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region, 1 in Liaoning province, 1 in Zhejiang province, 1 in Chongqing municipality and 1 in Sichuan province).

On June 12, 286 asymptomatic cases were freed from medical observation (57 imported cases; 229 indigenous cases, 174 in Shanghai municipality, 10 in Jilin province, 9 in Zhejiang province, 8 in Liaoning province, 8 in Sichuan province, 7 in Henan province, 5 in Hebei province, 3 in Jiangxi province, 2 in Beijing municipality, 2 in Tianjin municipality and 1 in Yunnan province). 6 asymptomatic cases became confirmed cases (including 4 imported cases). As of 24:00 on June 12, 2,396 asymptomatic cases (increased by 1 in Inner Mongolia autonomous region after verification) were still under medical observation (including 467 imported cases).

As of 24:00 on June 12, 3,225,874 confirmed infections had been reported in the Hong Kong and Macao special administrative regions and Taiwan province: 333,528 in Hong Kong (9,390 had died and 62,861 had been cured and discharged from hospital), 83 in Macao (all had been cured and discharged from hospital) and 2,892,263 in Taiwan (4,171 had died and 13,742 had been cured and discharged from hospital).
