June 8: Daily briefing on novel coronavirus cases in China

On June 7, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland reported 67 new cases of confirmed infections (23 imported cases, 9 in Fujian province, 8 in Shanghai municipality, 2 in Shandong province, 1 in Shanxi province, 1 in Guangdong province, 1 in Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region and 1 in Chongqing municipality; 44 indigenous cases, 35 in Inner Mongolia autonomous region, 4 in Beijing municipality, 4 in Shanghai municipality and 1 in Sichuan province, including 1 confirmed case converting from an asymptomatic case in Beijing municipality), no deaths, and no new cases of suspected infections.

On June 7, 162 patients were released from hospital after being cured (33 imported cases; 129 indigenous cases, 68 in Shanghai municipality, 28 in Beijing municipality, 16 in Sichuan province, 10 in Henan province, 4 in Tianjin municipality, 2 in Zhejiang province and 1 in Jilin province). 7,955 people who had had close contact with infected patients were freed from medical observation. The number of serious cases decreased by 11.

As of 24:00 on June 7, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland had reported 18,817 cases of imported confirmed infections and no deaths. In all, 18,622 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 195 confirmed cases (no serious cases) and no suspected cases.

As of 24:00 on June 7, the National Health Commission had received reports of 224,465 confirmed cases and 5,226 deaths in 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland, and in all 218,258 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 981 confirmed cases (including 39 cases in serious condition) and no suspected cases. 4,135,315 people had been identified as having had close contact with infected patients. 114,793 were still under medical observation.

On June 7, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland reported 149 new asymptomatic cases (69 imported cases; 80 indigenous cases, 46 in Inner Mongolia autonomous region, 11 in Shanghai municipality, 5 in Liaoning province, 4 in Beijing municipality, 3 in Jilin province, 3 in Sichuan province, 3 in Yunnan province, 2 in Zhejiang province, 2 in Fujian province and 1 in Jiangsu province).

On June 7, 760 asymptomatic cases were freed from medical observation (110 imported cases; 650 indigenous cases, 511 in Shanghai municipality, 78 in Sichuan province, 22 in Henan province, 19 in Zhejiang province, 7 in Liaoning province, 5 in Jilin province, 3 in Tianjin municipality, 1 in Beijing municipality, 1 in Jiangxi province, 1 in Shandong province, 1 in Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region and 1 in Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region). 1 asymptomatic case became a confirmed case (an indigenous case). As of 24:00 on June 7, 4,025 asymptomatic cases were still under medical observation (including 475 imported cases).

As of 24:00 on June 7, 2,873,837 confirmed infections had been reported in the Hong Kong and Macao special administrative regions and Taiwan province: 332,883 in Hong Kong (9,389 had died and 62,575 had been cured and discharged from hospital), 83 in Macao (82 had been cured and discharged from hospital) and 2,540,871 in Taiwan (3,214 had died and 13,742 had been cured and discharged from hospital).
