June 5: Daily briefing on novel coronavirus cases in China

On June 4, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland reported 56 new cases of confirmed infections (23 imported cases, 8 in Fujian province, 5 in Sichuan province, 4 in Guangdong province, 1 in Beijing municipality, 1 in Tianjin municipality, 1 in Shanghai municipality, 1 in Shandong province, 1 in Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region and 1 in Yunnan province; 33 indigenous cases, 16 in Beijing municipality, 11 in Inner Mongolia autonomous region and 6 in Shanghai municipality, including 3 confirmed cases converting from asymptomatic cases, 2 in Beijing municipality and 1 in Shanghai municipality), no deaths, and no new cases of suspected infections.

On June 4, 265 patients were released from hospital after being cured (20 imported cases; 245 indigenous cases, 157 in Shanghai municipality, 44 in Beijing municipality, 14 in Jilin province, 13 in Tianjin municipality, 9 in Henan province, 6 in Sichuan province, 1 in Guangdong province and 1 in Shaanxi province). 12,434 people who had had close contact with infected patients were freed from medical observation. The number of serious cases decreased by 8.

As of 24:00 on June 4, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland had reported 18,770 cases of imported confirmed infections and no deaths. In all, 18,549 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 221 confirmed cases (no cases in serious condition) and no suspected cases.

As of 24:00 on June 4, the National Health Commission had received reports of 224,310 confirmed cases and 5,226 deaths in 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland, and in all 217,679 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 1,405 confirmed cases (including 65 cases in serious condition) and no suspected cases. 4,122,325 people had been identified as having had close contact with infected patients. 134,451 were still under medical observation.

On June 4, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland reported 106 new asymptomatic cases (51 imported cases; 55 indigenous cases, 25 in Liaoning province, 16 in Shanghai municipality, 7 in Inner Mongolia autonomous region, 3 in Beijing municipality, 2 in Shandong province, 1 in Jilin province and 1 in Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region).

On June 4, 1,002 asymptomatic cases were freed from medical observation (48 imported cases; 954 indigenous cases, 832 in Shanghai municipality, 33 in Sichuan province, 28 in Jilin province, 20 in Zhejiang province, 16 in Henan province, 8 in Beijing municipality, 6 in Tianjin municipality, 3 in Liaoning province, 3 in Guangdong province, 2 in Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region, 1 in Anhui province, 1 in Jiangxi province and 1 in Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region). 3 asymptomatic cases became confirmed cases (all were indigenous cases). As of 24:00 on June 4, 6,419 asymptomatic cases were still under medical observation (including 485 imported cases).

As of 24:00 on June 4, 2,675,542 confirmed infections had been reported in the Hong Kong and Macao special administrative regions and Taiwan province: 332,665 in Hong Kong (9,382 had died and 62,485 had been cured and discharged from hospital), 83 in Macao (82 had been cured and discharged from hospital) and 2,342,794 in Taiwan (2,815 had died and 13,742 had been cured and discharged from hospital).
