June 3: Daily briefing on novel coronavirus cases in China

On June 2, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland reported 37 new cases of confirmed infections (17 imported cases, 7 in Fujian province, 4 in Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region, 2 in Shanghai municipality, 2 in Guangdong province, 1 in Shanxi province and 1 in Chongqing municipality; 20 indigenous cases, 8 in Beijing municipality, 8 in Shanghai municipality, 3 in Inner Mongolia autonomous region and 1 in Sichuan province, including 2 confirmed cases converting from asymptomatic cases in Shanghai municipality), no deaths, and no new cases of suspected infections.

On June 2, 212 patients were released from hospital after being cured (27 imported cases; 185 indigenous cases, 80 in Shanghai municipality, 53 in Beijing municipality, 20 in Sichuan province, 10 in Tianjin municipality, 10 in Jilin province, 10 in Henan province, 1 in Guangdong province and 1 in Shaanxi province). 18,415 people who had had close contact with infected patients were freed from medical observation. The number of serious cases decreased by 34.

As of 24:00 on June 2, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland had reported 18,722 cases of imported confirmed infections and no deaths. In all, 18,505 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 217 confirmed cases (no serious cases) and no suspected cases.

As of 24:00 on June 2, the National Health Commission had received reports of 224,208 confirmed cases and 5,226 deaths in 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland, and in all 217,110 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 1,872 confirmed cases (including 82 cases in serious condition) and no suspected cases. 4,111,456 people had been identified as having had close contact with infected patients. 148,056 were still under medical observation.

On June 2, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland reported 120 new asymptomatic cases (66 imported cases; 54 indigenous cases, 9 in Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region, 8 in Shanghai municipality, 7 in Beijing municipality, 7 in Liaoning province, 5 in Jilin province, 4 in Hebei province, 4 in Inner Mongolia autonomous region, 3 in Tianjin municipality, 3 in Shandong province, 2 in Henan province, 1 in Jiangsu province and 1 in Zhejiang province).

On June 2, 1,131 asymptomatic cases were freed from medical observation (58 imported cases; 1,073 indigenous cases, 867 in Shanghai municipality, 81 in Sichuan province, 40 in Henan province, 18 in Zhejiang province, 15 in Liaoning province, 15 in Jilin province, 7 in Beijing municipality, 7 in Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region, 6 in Tianjin municipality, 5 in Jiangxi province, 3 in Jiangsu province, 3 in Shandong province, 2 in Hubei province, 2 in Qinghai province, 1 in Hebei province and 1 in Fujian province). 2 asymptomatic cases became confirmed cases (both were indigenous cases). As of 24:00 on June 2, 8,622 asymptomatic cases were still under medical observation (including 457 imported cases).

As of 24:00 on June 2, 2,530,791 confirmed infections had been reported in the Hong Kong and Macao special administrative regions and Taiwan province: 332,547 in Hong Kong (9,380 had died and 62,381 had been cured and discharged from hospital), 83 in Macao (82 had been cured and discharged from hospital) and 2,198,161 in Taiwan (2,521 had died and 13,742 had been cured and discharged from hospital).
