Organization Overview
The Shenzhen Institute of Synthetic Biology is an unincorporated scientific research organization led by the Shenzhen Institute of Advanced Technology, Chinese Academy of Sciences (SIAT).
SIAT-Chinese Academy of Sciences was jointly established by Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS), the Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK), and the Shenzhen Municipal Government in 2006. Over the past 14 years, SIAT has formed a research team of more than 3,300 people, including over 600 staffs with overseas experience. The wide-ranging expertise drawing from technical, engineering or science professions has now positioned SIAT at the interface between B.o Technologies (BT) and Information Technology (IT) for the 21st century.
With the vision of building and understanding life, integrating BT and IT, and constructing a world-class research institute of synthetic biology, our institute adheres to the concept of “build life for understanding it, build life for applications”, focusing on the understanding of artificial life systems, through research, core methods and medical applications of synthetic biology.
Position Description
Position 1: Associate professors, Assistant professors (Tenure Track)

Job-specific Responsibilities
- Undertake teaching work and guide the study of undergraduates and postgraduates;
- Undertake teaching reform, curriculum design or teaching laboratory planning;
- Understand the frontiers of the subject's development and the state of technological progress, and integrate it into teaching;
- Guide the teaching work;
- Undertake scientific research work, organize, lead or participate in the scientific research team as a key member to complete important scientific research projects, or complete the transformation of important scientific research achievements;
- Participate in various activities of the faculty and the institute of SIAT, and make suggestions for the construction and development of the faculty and the institute of SIAT;
- Complete other tasks assigned by the faculty and the institute of SIAT.
Qualifications
- A doctor’s degree;
- Scientific and research experience and academic level should be equal to tenure-track professor in internationally renowned universities and institutes;
- Can work full-time in SIAT;
- Able to undertake the teaching of professional foundation classes and develop frontier courses of disciplines
- Have the experience and ability to hold important scientific and technologies projects at national level;
- Fluently use Chinese and English.
Position 2:Principal Investigator
