Gansu desert showcases picturesque moon-shaped scenery

Dubbed “one of the top five beautiful deserts in China” the Mingsha Mountain and Crescent Moon Spring scenic area in Dunhuang, Northwest China’s Gansu province boasts picturesque views in early summer. The spring's name derives from the crescent moon shape of the small pool between two large sand dunes.
