China's Voyah launches world's first electric MPV

Voyah, the premium arm of State-owned carmaker Dongfeng, launched the world’s first electric MPV on Saturday.

The model, called Dreamer, measures 5,315 mm in length, 1,980 mm in width and 1,810 mm in height and has a wheelbase of 3,200 mm.

It is available in four variants, with three seven-seat versions priced from 369,900 yuan ($55,485) to 439,900 yuan and a customized four-seat version priced at 639,900 yuan.

The model has two powertrain options. The electric one features dual motors, each of which has a maximum output of 160 kW and generates a peak torque of 620Nm.

The model can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 5.8 seconds and has a CLTC range up to 605 kilometers.

The MPV is also available in a range-extending version. It sports a 1.5-liter turbocharged engine as well as front and rear motors, generating a peak torque of 610 Nm. It accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 6.6 seconds.

The model has 24 sensors and boasts 26 ADAS functions including automatic parking and remote parking.

Voyah said it has received more than 4,000 orders for the model since its pre-sales started in April, adding their deliveries are expected to begin in the third quarter this year.
