In recent years, Zhuanghe has taken a number of measures to strengthen protections. With the improvement of the ecological environment and local residents' awareness of environmental protection, the number of black-faced spoonbills in Zhuanghe has steadily increased in recent years.

Last year, a wildlife protection institute recorded more than 240 of the birds in Zhuanghe.
