On April 12, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland reported 1,513 new cases of confirmed infections (13 imported cases, 5 in Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region, 4 in Guangdong province, 1 in Shanghai municipality, 1 in Jiangsu province, 1 in Fujian province and 1 in Sichuan province, including 6 confirmed cases converting from asymptomatic cases, 3 in Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region, 1 in Fujian province, 1 in Guangdong province and 1 in Sichuan province; 1,500 indigenous cases, 1,189 in Shanghai municipality, 233 in Jilin province, 22 in Guangdong province, 14 in Hainan province, 12 in Zhejiang province, 7 in Fujian province, 4 in Jiangsu province, 3 in Shandong province, 3 in Henan province, 2 in Heilongjiang province, 2 in Hunan province, 2 in Shaanxi province, 1 in Tianjin municipality, 1 in Hebei province, 1 in Liaoning province, 1 in Anhui province, 1 in Jiangxi province, 1 in Hubei province and 1 in Yunnan province, including 152 confirmed cases converting from asymptomatic cases, 97 in Jilin province, 23 in Shanghai municipality, 13 in Hainan province, 9 in Guangdong province, 6 in Zhejiang province, 2 in Fujian province, 1 in Jiangsu province and 1 in Shandong province), no new cases of suspected infections, and no deaths.

On April 12, 1,678 patients were released from hospital after being cured (55 imported cases; 1,623 indigenous cases, 1,149 in Jilin province, 334 in Shanghai municipality, 41 in Fujian province, 25 in Shandong province, 14 in Liaoning province, 11 in Hebei province, 11 in Heilongjiang province, 11 in Guangdong province, 8 in Zhejiang province, 5 in Jiangsu province, 3 in Henan province, 2 in Yunnan province, 2 in Shaanxi province, 1 in Tianjin municipality, 1 in Shanxi province, 1 in Anhui province, 1 in Jiangxi province, 1 in Chongqing municipality, 1 in Sichuan province and 1 in Guizhou province). 26,408 people who had had close contact with infected patients were freed from medical observation. The number of serious cases increased by 10.

As of 24:00 on April 12, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland had reported 17,915 cases of imported confirmed infections and no deaths. In all, 17,601 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 314 confirmed cases (no serious cases) and 26 suspected cases.

As of 24:00 on April 12, the National Health Commission had received reports of 168,362 confirmed cases and 4,638 deaths in 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland, and in all 141,898 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 21,826 confirmed cases (including 87 cases in serious condition) and 26 suspected cases. 2,739,650 people had been identified as having had close contact with infected patients. 453,136 were still under medical observation.

On April 12, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland reported 26,525 new asymptomatic cases (105 imported cases; 26,420 indigenous cases, 25,141 in Shanghai municipality, 852 in Jilin province, 71 in Jiangsu province, 71 in Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region, 60 in Anhui province, 44 in Hubei province, 37 in Hebei province, 31 in Liaoning province, 19 in Zhejiang province, 19 in Shandong province, 16 in Jiangxi province, 11 in Henan province, 11 in Qinghai province, 10 in Yunnan province, 9 in Guangdong province, 7 in Fujian province, 4 in Shanxi province, 3 in Sichuan province, 2 in Heilongjiang province, 1 in Tianjin municipality and 1 in Inner Mongolia autonomous region).

On April 12, 8,317 asymptomatic cases were freed from medical observation (105 imported cases; 8,212 indigenous cases, 6,044 in Shanghai municipality, 1,439 in Jilin province, 224 in Hebei province, 125 in Fujian province, 98 in Liaoning province, 80 in Shandong province, 59 in Jiangsu province, 36 in Jiangxi province, 21 in Anhui province, 18 in Henan province, 17 in Yunnan province, 13 in Heilongjiang province, 11 in Guangdong province, 8 in Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region, 8 in Gansu province, 5 in Tianjin municipality, 3 in Hubei province, 1 in Shanxi province, 1 in Chongqing municipality and 1 in Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region). 158 asymptomatic cases became confirmed cases (including 6 imported cases). As of 24:00 on April 12, 258,374 asymptomatic cases were still under medical observation (including 881 imported cases).

As of 24:00 on April 12, 337,453 confirmed infections had been reported in the Hong Kong and Macao special administrative regions and Taiwan province: 308,705 in Hong Kong (8,886 had died and 60,660 had been cured and discharged from hospital), 82 in Macao (all had been cured and discharged from hospital) and 28,666 in Taiwan (854 had died and 13,742 had been cured and discharged from hospital).
