Flocks of grey herons were photographed making nests in a forest in Zhaohua district, Guangyuan, Southwest China's Sichuan province.
The grey heron is a second-level national protected migratory waterfowl that lives on the edge of rivers and lakes. They are able to live in Zhaohua's Taigong township thanks to its suitable ecosystem.
The township boasts more than 73 hectares of peach trees and about 1,333 hectares of rapeseed flowers. When spring comes, pink peach blossoms appear among a sea of golden petals all over the villages and fields, forming a beautiful rural scene.
