IM Motors, a Shanghai-based premium electric marque, has unveiled its first model, the L7 Pro sedan, which will be delivered from late April.

The model is priced at 408,800 yuan. The electric sedan, which has a range of 615 kilometers on one charge, can accelerate from zero to 100 km/hour in 3.87 seconds.

Its sports a dual-electric motor system that delivers a maximum output of 425 kW and a top torque of 725 Nm.

In terms of ADAS features, the L7 Pro will have such functions as adaptive cruise control, lane keep and automatic parking.

Before the production version, IM Motors rolled off 200 beta-version ones in December 2021.

IM Motors is a joint venture among China's SAIC Motor, e-commerce giant Alibaba and Shanghai's Zhangjiang Group.

SAIC is the largest shareholder with a 54 percent stake. Alibaba and Shanghai Zhangjiang each hold a stake of 18 percent.

The joint venture, with an investment of around 10 billion yuan, was established in late 2020.

China’s new energy vehicle market is growing fast. Last year, a total of 3.5 million electric cars and plug-in hybrids were sold in the country.

The figure is expected to reach 5.5 million this year, according to the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers.
