The number of serious cases increased by 1.

As of 24:00 on March 28, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland had reported 17,370 cases of imported confirmed infections (reduced by 4 in Jilin province after verification) and no deaths. In all, 16,532 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 838 confirmed cases (reduced by 4 in Jilin province after verification, and no serious cases) and 15 suspected cases.

As of 24:00 on March 28, the National Health Commission had received reports of 145,808 confirmed cases and 4,638 deaths in 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland, and in all 113,311 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 27,859 confirmed cases (including 59 cases in serious condition) and 15 suspected cases. 2,258,351 people had been identified as having had close contact with infected patients. 370,261 were still under medical observation.

As of 24:00 on March 28, 43,425 asymptomatic cases were still under medical observation (including 1,309 imported cases).

As of 24:00 on March 28, 307,661 confirmed infections had been reported in the Hong Kong and Macao special administrative regions and Taiwan province: 284,683 in Hong Kong (7,420 had died and 43,043 had been cured and discharged from hospital), 82 in Macao (81 had been cured and discharged from hospital) and 22,896 in Taiwan (853 had died and 13,742 had been cured and discharged from hospital).
