The number of serious cases increased by 8.

As of 24:00 on March 22, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland had reported 17,052 cases of imported confirmed infections and no deaths. In all, 15,608 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 1,444 confirmed cases (including 1 case in serious condition) and 12 suspected cases.

As of 24:00 on March 22, the National Health Commission had received reports of 137,231 confirmed cases and 4,638 deaths in 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland, and in all 107,490 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 25,103 confirmed cases (including 50 cases in serious condition) and 12 suspected cases. 2,105,379 people had been identified as having had close contact with infected patients. 361,628 were still under medical observation.

As of 24:00 on March 22, 22,000 asymptomatic cases were still under medical observation (including 1,589 imported cases).

As of 24:00 on March 22, 301,416 confirmed infections had been reported in the Hong Kong and Macao special administrative regions and Taiwan province: 279,243 in Hong Kong (6,364 had died and 36,121 had been cured and discharged from hospital), 82 in Macao (79 had been cured and discharged from hospital) and 22,091 in Taiwan (853 had died and 13,742 had been cured and discharged from hospital).
