The Hunan Museum is staging a Peking Opera performance on the life of Xin Zhui (217- 168 BC), wife of the Changsha state chancellor of the early Western Han Dynasty (202 BC-AD 25). The stage props and costumes were designed from items unearthed in her tomb.

Xin Zhui is the occupant of the No.1 Western Han Tomb discovered in 1968 at Mawangdui, Changsha, Hunan province. Well-preserved burial items, including her body, have since been kept at the Hunan Museum.

The performance is shown every Saturdays in March and April.
