The Gansu station of the China National Silk Museum (CNSM) has finished a project on conserving old textiles unearthed from a Han Dynasty (206 BC-AD 220) beacon tower at Maquanwan site in Dunhuang, Gansu province.

After thorough research and analysis, 112 pieces of textile, including gauze and brocade, have been strengthened and repaired, and fixed of major damage. Each of them has been packaged in a well-designed case so as to facilitate future transport and display. The conservation result was peer reviewed and examined closely at the CNSM on March 7.
