Chinese people celebrate Longtaitou Festival

Today marks the Longtaitou Festival, usually held on the second day of the second month of the Chinese lunar calendar. Its name means "Dragon raising its head" because the dragon was regarded as the deity of rain, an important factor in agriculture.

On this day, people eat Chinese pancakes and dragon beard noodles. They also get a haircut which they believe will get rid of bad luck.
