Feb 15: Daily briefing on novel coronavirus cases in China

On Feb 14, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland reported 80 new cases of confirmed infections (40 imported cases, 16 in Guangdong province, 8 in Fujian province, 6 in Shanghai municipality, 4 in Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region, 2 in Shandong province, 1 in Beijing municipality, 1 in Heilongjiang province, 1 in Jiangsu province and 1 in Sichuan province, including 3 confirmed cases converting from asymptomatic cases, 2 in Guangdong and 1 in Sichuan; 40 indigenous cases, 29 in Liaoning province including 28 in Huludao and 1 in Shenyang, 8 in Suzhou, Jiangsu, 2 in Shenzhen, Guangdong and 1 in Baise, Guangxi, including 1 confirmed case converting from an asymptomatic case in Liaoning), 2 new cases of suspected infections (both were imported cases in Shanghai), and no deaths. 80 patients were released from hospital after being cured. 5,746 people who had had close contact with infected patients were freed from medical observation. Serious cases increased by 1.

As of 24:00 on Feb 14, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland had reported 13,088 cases of imported confirmed infections and no deaths. In all, 12,387 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 701 confirmed cases (including 1 case in serious condition) and 3 suspected cases.

As of 24:00 on Feb 14, the National Health Commission had received reports of 107,094 confirmed cases and 4,636 deaths in 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland, and in all 101,060 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 1,398 confirmed cases (including 6 cases in serious condition) and 3 suspected cases. 1,561,451 people had been identified as having had close contact with infected patients. 30,116 were still under medical observation.

On Feb 14, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland reported 44 new asymptomatic cases (37 imported cases; 7 indigenous cases, 4 in Suzhou, Jiangsu and 3 in Wenshan Zhuang and Miao autonomous prefecture, Yunnan province). 50 asymptomatic cases were freed from medical observation (including 47 imported cases) and 4 asymptomatic cases became confirmed cases (including 3 imported cases). As of 24:00 on Feb 14, 791 asymptomatic cases were still under medical observation (including 714 imported cases).

As of 24:00 on Feb 14, 38,194 confirmed infections had been reported in the Hong Kong and Macao special administrative regions and Taiwan province: 18,494 in Hong Kong (221 had died and 14,763 had been cured and discharged from hospital), 79 in Macao (all had been cured and discharged from hospital) and 19,621 in Taiwan (851 had died and 13,742 had been cured and discharged from hospital).
