Feb 13: Daily briefing on novel coronavirus cases in China

On Feb 12, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland reported 67 new cases of confirmed infections (39 imported cases, 19 in Guangdong province, 9 in Shanghai municipality, 5 in Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region, 2 in Beijing municipality, 1 in Zhejiang province, 1 in Fujian province, 1 in Shandong province and 1 in Sichuan province, including 5 confirmed cases converting from asymptomatic cases, 3 in Guangdong, 1 in Guangxi and 1 in Sichuan; 28 indigenous cases, 13 in Guangxi including 12 in Baise and 1 in Nanning, 11 in Huludao, Liaoning province, 2 in Wenshan Zhuang and Miao autonomous prefecture, Yunnan province, 1 in Xiqing district, Tianjin municipality and 1 in Shenzhen, Guangdong, including 1 confirmed case converting from an asymptomatic case in Guangxi), no new cases of suspected infections, and no deaths. 106 patients were released from hospital after being cured. 4,937 people who had had close contact with infected patients were freed from medical observation. Serious cases decreased by 1.

As of 24:00 on Feb 12, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland had reported 12,990cases of imported confirmed infections and no deaths. In all, 12,318 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 672 confirmed cases (including 1 case in serious condition) and no suspected cases.

As of 24:00 on Feb 12, the National Health Commission had received reports of 106,930 confirmed cases and 4,636 deaths in 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland, and in all 100,897 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 1,397 confirmed cases (including 5 cases in serious condition) and no suspected cases. 1,556,902 people had been identified as having had close contact with infected patients. 34,056 were still under medical observation.

On Feb 12, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland reported 34 new asymptomatic cases (33 imported cases; 1 indigenous case in Wenshan Zhuang and Miao autonomous prefecture, Yunnan). 47 asymptomatic cases were freed from medical observation (including 36 imported cases) and 6 asymptomatic cases became confirmed cases (including 5 imported cases). As of 24:00 on Feb 12, 804 asymptomatic cases were still under medical observation (including 733 imported cases).

As of 24:00 on Feb 12, 36,313 confirmed infections had been reported in the Hong Kong and Macao special administrative regions and Taiwan province: 16,719 in Hong Kong (219 had died and 14,183 had been cured and discharged from hospital), 79 in Macao (all had been cured and discharged from hospital) and 19,515 in Taiwan (851 had died and 13,742 had been cured and discharged from hospital).
