Feb 8: Daily briefing on novel coronavirus cases in China

On Feb 7, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland reported 105 new cases of confirmed infections (40 imported cases, 18 in Guangdong province, 15 in Shanghai municipality, 3 in Sichuan province, 1 in Beijing municipality, 1 in Tianjin municipality, 1 in Henan province and 1 in Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region, including 10 confirmed cases converting from asymptomatic cases, 5 in Guangdong, 3 in Sichuan, 1 in Beijing and 1 in Henan; 65 indigenous cases, 64 in Baise, Guangxi, and 1 in Hebei district, Tianjin, including 4 confirmed cases converting from asymptomatic cases in Guangxi), no new cases of suspected infections, and no deaths. 127 patients were released from hospital after being cured. 2,313 people who had had close contact with infected patients were freed from medical observation. Serious cases decreased by 1.

As of 24:00 on Feb 7, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland had reported 12,788 cases of imported confirmed infections and no deaths. In all, 12,125 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 663 confirmed cases (including 1 case in serious condition) and no suspected cases.

As of 24:00 on Feb 7, the National Health Commission had received reports of 106,524 confirmed cases and 4,636 deaths in 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland, and in all 100,415 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 1,473 confirmed cases (including 5 cases in serious condition) and no suspected cases. 1,547,273 people had been identified as having had close contact with infected patients. 42,525 were still under medical observation.

On Feb 7, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland reported 46 new asymptomatic cases (42 imported cases; 4 indigenous cases, 2 in Heihe, Heilongjiang province and 2 in Baise, Guangxi). 36 asymptomatic cases were freed from medical observation (including 30 imported cases) and 14 asymptomatic cases became confirmed cases (including 10 imported cases). As of 24:00 on Feb 7, 872 asymptomatic cases were still under medical observation (including 766 imported cases).

As of 24:00 on Feb 7, 34,297 confirmed infections had been reported in the Hong Kong and Macao special administrative regions and Taiwan province: 15,026 in Hong Kong (213 had died and 13,232 had been cured and discharged from hospital), 79 in Macao (all had been cured and discharged from hospital) and 19,192 in Taiwan (851 had died and 13,742 had been cured and discharged from hospital).
