Feb 7: Daily briefing on novel coronavirus cases in China

On Feb 6, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland reported 79 new cases of confirmed infections (34 imported cases, 21 in Guangdong province, 8 in Shanghai municipality, 1 in Beijing municipality, 1 in Zhejiang province, 1 in Fujian province, 1 in Henan province and 1 in Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region, including 4 confirmed cases converting from asymptomatic cases, 1 in Zhejiang, 1 in Fujian, 1 in Guangdong and 1 in Guangxi; 45 indigenous cases, 37 in Baise, Guangxi, 4 in Guangdong including 3 in Shenzhen and 1 in Guangzhou, 3 in Beijing including 1 in Chaoyang district, 1 in Fengtai district and 1 in Xicheng district, and 1 in Hebei district, Tianjin municipality, including 1 confirmed case converting from an asymptomatic case in Beijing), 1 new case of suspected infections (an imported case in Shanghai), and no deaths. 94 patients were released from hospital after being cured. 2,101 people who had had close contact with infected patients were freed from medical observation. The number of serious cases remained unchanged.

As of 24:00 on Feb 6, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland had reported 12,748 cases of imported confirmed infections and no deaths. In all, 12,067 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 681 confirmed cases (including 1 case in serious condition) and 1 suspected case.

As of 24:00 on Feb 6, the National Health Commission had received reports of 106,419 confirmed cases and 4,636 deaths in 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland, and in all 100,288 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 1,495 confirmed cases (including 6 cases in serious condition) and 1 suspected case. 1,545,664 people had been identified as having had close contact with infected patients. 43,234 were still under medical observation.

On Feb 6, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland reported 51 new asymptomatic cases (41 imported cases; 10 indigenous cases, 5 in Heihe, Heilongjiang province and 5 in Guangxi including 4 in Baise and 1 in Nanning). 25 asymptomatic cases were freed from medical observation (including 20 imported cases) and 5 asymptomatic cases became confirmed cases (including 4 imported cases). As of 24:00 on Feb 6, 876 asymptomatic cases were still under medical observation (including 764 imported cases).

As of 24:00 on Feb 6, 33,888 confirmed infections had been reported in the Hong Kong and Macao special administrative regions and Taiwan province: 14,665 in Hong Kong (213 had died and 13,125 had been cured and discharged from hospital), 79 in Macao (all had been cured and discharged from hospital) and 19,144 in Taiwan (851 had died and 13,742 had been cured and discharged from hospital).
