Jan 26: Daily briefing on novel coronavirus cases in China

On Jan 25, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland reported 44 new cases of confirmed infections (20 imported cases, 10 in Shanghai municipality, 4 in Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region, 2 in Beijing municipality, 2 in Tianjin municipality, 1 in Henan province and 1 in Chongqing municipality, including 2 confirmed cases converting from asymptomatic cases, 1 in Tianjin and 1 in Guangxi ; 24 indigenous cases, 14 in Beijing including 9 in Fengtai district, 3 in Chaoyang district, 1 in Daxing district and 1 in Xicheng district, 4 in Mudanjiang, Heilongjiang province, 2 in Ili Kazak autonomous prefecture, Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region, 1 in Baoding, Hebei province, 1 in Shenyang, Liaoning province, 1 in Anyang, Henan and 1 in Zhongshan, Guangdong province), no new cases of suspected infections, and no deaths. 173 patients were released from hospital after being cured. 3,395 people who had had close contact with infected patients were freed from medical observation. Serious cases decreased by 1.

As of 24:00 on Jan 25, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland had reported 12,436 cases of imported confirmed infections and no deaths. In all, 11,387 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 1,049 confirmed cases (without cases in serious condition) and 3 suspected cases.

As of 24:00 on Jan 25, the National Health Commission had received reports of 105,749 confirmed cases and 4,636 deaths in 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland, and in all 98,626 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 2,487 confirmed cases (including 8 cases in serious condition) and 3 suspected cases. 1,505,286 people had been identified as having had close contact with infected patients. 41,953 were still under medical observation.

On Jan 25, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland reported 64 new asymptomatic cases (44 imported cases; 20 indigenous cases, 9 in Mudanjiang, Heilongjiang, 6 in Ili Kazak autonomous prefecture, Xinjiang and 5 in Beijing including 3 in Xicheng district and 2 in Fengtai district). 31 asymptomatic cases were freed from medical observation (including 29 imported cases) and 2 asymptomatic cases became confirmed cases (both were imported cases). As of 24:00 on Jan 25, 778 asymptomatic cases were still under medical observation (including 684 imported cases).

As of 24:00 on Jan 25, 31,671 confirmed infections had been reported in the Hong Kong and Macao special administrative regions and Taiwan province: 13,181 in Hong Kong (213 had died and 12,623 had been cured and discharged from hospital), 79 in Macao (all had been cured and discharged from hospital) and 18,411 in Taiwan (851 had died and 13,742 had been cured and discharged from hospital).
