Jan 13: Daily briefing on novel coronavirus cases in China

On Jan 12, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland reported 190 new cases of confirmed infections (66 imported cases, 31 in Shanghai municipality, 17 in Guangdong province, 6 in Tianjin municipality, 5 in Fujian province, 4 in Zhejiang province, 2 in Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region and 1 in Beijing municipality, including 6 confirmed cases converting from asymptomatic cases, 4 in Zhejiang and 2 in Guangdong; 124 indigenous cases, 76 in Henan province including 43 in Anyang, 28 in Xuchang, 3 in Zhengzhou, 1 in Xinyang and 1 in Huaxian county, 41 in Tianjin including 40 in Jinnan district and 1 in Hexi district, 6 in Xi'an, Shaanxi province and 1 in Shenzhen, Guangdong), 9 new cases of suspected infections (all were imported cases in Shanghai), and no deaths. 206 patients were released from hospital after being cured. 2,922 people who had had close contact with infected patients were freed from medical observation. Serious cases decreased by 4.

As of 24:00 on Jan 12, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland had reported 11,891 cases of imported confirmed infections and no deaths. In all, 10,716 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 1,175 confirmed cases (including 2 cases in serious condition) and 9 suspected cases.

As of 24:00 on Jan 12, the National Health Commission had received reports of 104,379 confirmed cases and 4,636 deaths in 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland, and in all 96,283 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 3,460 confirmed cases (including 10 cases in serious condition) and 9 suspected cases. 1,466,364 people had been identified as having had close contact with infected patients. 47,490 were still under medical observation.

On Jan 12, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland reported 31 new asymptomatic cases (22 imported cases; 9 indigenous cases including 5 in Jinnan district, Tianjin, 2 in Dalian, Liaoning province, 1 in Shenzhen, Guangdong, and 1 in Dehong Dai and Jingpo autonomous prefecture, Yunnan province). 23 asymptomatic cases were freed from medical observation (all were imported cases) and 6 (imported cases) became confirmed cases. As of 24:00 on Jan 12, 726 asymptomatic cases were still under medical observation (including 674 imported cases).

As of 24:00 on Jan 12, 30,459 confirmed infections had been reported in the Hong Kong and Macao special administrative regions and Taiwan province: 12,821 in Hong Kong (213 had died and 12,316 had been cured and discharged from hospital), 79 in Macao (77 had been cured and discharged from hospital) and 17,559 in Taiwan (850 had died and 13,742 had been cured and discharged from hospital).
