Donated burial figurines from the Ming Dynasty (1368-1644) on view at Shanghai Museum!
Displayed at the ground floor lobby are figurines of a guard of honor complete with insignia and horses from the museum’s collection and two other statues donated by Ms Suzanne Fratus. The donation ceremony coincided with the opening of the exhibition on Dec 14.
The new acquisition shows firing technology and the unique artist’s style similar to the figurines in the museum collection. Ms Fratus donated them to China out of respect for Chinese people and the Chinese culture. The display will end on Jan 14, 2022.
