Dec 13: Daily briefing on novel coronavirus cases in China

On Dec 12, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland reported 101 new cases of confirmed infections (21 imported cases, 5 in Shanghai municipality, 5 in Guangdong province, 4 in Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region, 2 in Beijing municipality, 2 in Yunnan province, 1 in Jilin province, 1 in Jiangsu province and 1 in Zhejiang province, including 1 confirmed case converting from an asymptomatic case in Zhejiang; 80 indigenous cases, 74 in Zhejiang including 55 in Shaoxing, 14 in Ningbo and 5 in Hangzhou, 5 in Hulunbuir, Inner Mongolia autonomous region and 1 in Xi'an, Shaanxi province, including 25 confirmed cases converting from asymptomatic cases in Zhejiang), no new cases of suspected infections, and no deaths. 43 patients were released from hospital after being cured. 814 people who had had close contact with infected patients were freed from medical observation. Serious cases decreased by 1.

As of 24:00 on Dec 12, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland had reported 10,478 cases of imported confirmed infections and no deaths. In all, 9,973 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 505 confirmed cases (including 4 cases in serious condition) and 2 suspected cases.

As of 24:00 on Dec 12, the National Health Commission had received reports of 99,780 confirmed cases and 4,636 deaths in 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland, and in all 93,763 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 1,381 confirmed cases (including 27 cases in serious condition) and 2 suspected cases. 1,361,008 people had been identified as having had close contact with infected patients. 51,333 were still under medical observation.

On Dec 12, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland reported 17 new asymptomatic cases (all were imported cases). 21 asymptomatic cases were freed from medical observation (including 19 imported cases) and 26 asymptomatic cases became confirmed cases (including 1 imported case). As of 24:00 on Dec 12, 444 asymptomatic cases were still under medical observation (including 398 imported cases).

As of 24:00 on Dec 12, 29,302 confirmed infections had been reported in the Hong Kong and Macao special administrative regions and Taiwan province: 12,488 in Hong Kong (213 had died and 12,168 had been cured and discharged from hospital), 77 in Macao (all had been cured and discharged from hospital) and 16,737 in Taiwan (848 had died and 13,742 had been cured and discharged from hospital).
