Dec 10: Daily briefing on novel coronavirus cases in China

On Dec 9, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland reported 63 new cases of confirmed infections (26 imported cases, 7 in Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region, 6 in Sichuan province, 3 in Fujian province, 3 in Shandong province, 2 in Shaanxi province, 1 in Beijing municipality, 1 in Liaoning province, 1 in Shanghai municipality, 1 in Zhejiang province and 1 in Yunnan province, including 6 confirmed cases converting from asymptomatic cases, 5 in Sichuan and 1 in Zhejiang; 37 indigenous cases, 24 in Hulunbuir, Inner Mongolia autonomous region, 5 in Zhejiang including 3 in Shaoxing and 2 in Ningbo, 5 in Dehong Dai and Jingpo autonomous prefecture, Yunnan, 2 in Harbin, Heilongjiang province and 1 in Xi’an, Shaanxi, including 4 confirmed cases converting from asymptomatic cases in Yunnan), no new cases of suspected infections, and no deaths. 31 patients were released from hospital after being cured. 762 people who had had close contact with infected patients were freed from medical observation. Serious cases increased by 5.

As of 24:00 on Dec 9, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland had reported 10,395 cases of imported confirmed infections and no deaths. In all, 9,922 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 473 confirmed cases (including 2 cases in serious condition) and 1 suspected case.

As of 24:00 on Dec 9, the National Health Commission had received reports of 99,517 confirmed cases and 4,636 deaths in 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland, and in all 93,659 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 1,222 confirmed cases (including 29 cases in serious condition) and 1 suspected case. 1,352,338 people had been identified as having had close contact with infected patients. 45,267 were still under medical observation.

On Dec 9, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland reported 43 new asymptomatic cases (20 imported cases; 23 indigenous cases in Zhejiang including 9 in Shaoxing, 7 in Hangzhou and 7 in Ningbo). 9 asymptomatic cases were freed from medical observation (including 7 imported cases) and 10 asymptomatic cases became confirmed cases (including 6 imported cases). As of 24:00 on Dec 9, 508 asymptomatic cases were still under medical observation (including 413 imported cases).

As of 24:00 on Dec 9, 29,259 confirmed infections had been reported in the Hong Kong and Macao special administrative regions and Taiwan province: 12,478 in Hong Kong (213 had died and 12,156 had been cured and discharged from hospital), 77 in Macao (all had been cured and discharged from hospital) and 16,704 in Taiwan (848 had died and 13,742 had been cured and discharged from hospital).
