Dec 1: Daily briefing on novel coronavirus cases in China

On Nov 30, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland reported 113 new cases of confirmed infections (22 imported cases, 8 in Yunnan province, 5 in Sichuan province, 4 in Guangdong province, 3 in Shanghai municipality, 1 in Fujian province and 1 in Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region, including 3 confirmed cases converting from asymptomatic cases in Sichuan; 91 indigenous cases in Hulunbuir, Inner Mongolia autonomous region), no new cases of suspected infections, and no deaths. 35 patients were released from hospital after being cured. 1,973 people who had had close contact with infected patients were freed from medical observation. Serious cases increased by 1.

As of 24:00 on Nov 30, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland had reported 10,191 cases of imported confirmed infections and no deaths. In all, 9,776 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 415 confirmed cases (including 3 cases in serious condition) and 2 suspected cases.

As of 24:00 on Nov 30, the National Health Commission had received reports of 98,824 confirmed cases and 4,636 deaths in 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland, and in all 93,320 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 868 confirmed cases (including 8 cases in serious condition) and 2 suspected cases. 1,329,260 people had been identified as having had close contact with infected patients. 32,228 were still under medical observation.

On Nov 30, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland reported 14 new asymptomatic cases (12 imported cases; 2 indigenous cases in Hulunbuir, Inner Mongolia). 22 asymptomatic cases were freed from medical observation (including 20 imported cases) and 3 (imported cases) became confirmed cases. As of 24:00 on Nov 30, 451 asymptomatic cases were still under medical observation (including 384 imported cases).

As of 24:00 on Nov 30, 29,114 confirmed infections had been reported in the Hong Kong and Macao special administrative regions and Taiwan province: 12,436 in Hong Kong (213 had died and 12,136 had been cured and discharged from hospital), 77 in Macao (all had been cured and discharged from hospital) and 16,601 in Taiwan (848 had died and 13,742 had been cured and discharged from hospital).
