Nov 28: Daily briefing on novel coronavirus cases in China

On Nov 27, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland reported 23 new cases of confirmed infections (20 imported cases, 6 in Yunnan province, 5 in Shanghai municipality, 3 in Guangdong province, 2 in Shandong province, 2 in Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region and 2 in Sichuan province, including 1 confirmed case converting from an asymptomatic case in Sichuan; 3 indigenous cases, 2 in Dehong Dai and Jingpo autonomous prefecture, Yunnan and 1 in Dalian, Liaoning province), 2 new cases of suspected infections (both were imported cases in Shanghai), and no deaths. 47 patients were released from hospital after being cured. 1,974 people who had had close contact with infected patients were freed from medical observation. The number of serious cases remained unchanged.

As of 24:00 on Nov 27, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland had reported 10,131 cases of imported confirmed infections and no deaths. In all, 9,733 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 398 confirmed cases (including 3 cases in serious condition) and 3 suspected cases.

As of 24:00 on Nov 27, the National Health Commission had received reports of 98,631 confirmed cases and 4,636 deaths in 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland, and in all 93,210 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 785 confirmed cases (including 7 cases in serious condition) and 3 suspected cases. 1,323,851 people had been identified as having had close contact with infected patients. 32,830 were still under medical observation.

On Nov 27, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland reported 22 new asymptomatic cases (18 imported cases; 4 indigenous cases, 3 in Hulunbuir, Inner Mongolia autonomous region and 1 in Jiading district, Shanghai). 11 asymptomatic cases were freed from medical observation (including 9 imported cases) and 1 (imported case) became a confirmed case. As of 24:00 on Nov 27, 449 asymptomatic cases were still under medical observation (including 378 imported cases).

As of 24:00 on Nov 27, 29,079 confirmed infections had been reported in the Hong Kong and Macao special administrative regions and Taiwan province: 12,424 in Hong Kong (213 had died and 12,130 had been cured and discharged from hospital), 77 in Macao (all had been cured and discharged from hospital) and 16,578 in Taiwan (848 had died and 13,742 had been cured and discharged from hospital).
