Nov 22: Daily briefing on novel coronavirus cases in China

On Nov 21, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland reported 38 new cases of confirmed infections (31 imported cases, 7 in Shandong province, 6 in Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region, 5 in Shanghai municipality, 4 in Yunnan province, 2 in Henan province, 2 in Guangdong province, 2 in Sichuan province, 1 in Liaoning province, 1 in Zhejiang province and 1 in Shaanxi province, including 5 confirmed cases converting from asymptomatic cases, 2 in Henan, 1 in Liaoning, 1 in Zhejiang and 1 in Guangxi; 7 indigenous cases, 5 in Dalian, Liaoning and 2 in Dehong Dai and Jingpo autonomous prefecture, Yunnan), 2 new cases of suspected infections (both were imported cases in Shanghai), and no deaths. 85 patients were released from hospital after being cured. 3,088 people who had had close contact with infected patients were freed from medical observation. Serious cases decreased by 1.

As of 24:00 on Nov 21, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland had reported 10,028 cases of imported confirmed infections and no deaths. In all, 9,633 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 395 confirmed cases (including 1 case in serious condition) and 4 suspected cases.

As of 24:00 on Nov 21, the National Health Commission had received reports of 98,505 confirmed cases and 4,636 deaths in 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland, and in all 92,818 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 1,051 confirmed cases (including 11 cases in serious condition) and 4 suspected cases. 1,302,902 people had been identified as having had close contact with infected patients. 30,852 were still under medical observation.

On Nov 21, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland reported 29 new asymptomatic cases (28 imported cases; 1 indigenous case in Dehong Dai and Jingpo autonomous prefecture, Yunnan). 14 asymptomatic cases were freed from medical observation (including 8 imported cases) and 5 (imported cases) became confirmed cases. As of 24:00 on Nov 21, 489 asymptomatic cases were still under medical observation (including 354 imported cases).

As of 24:00 on Nov 21, 29,007 confirmed infections had been reported in the Hong Kong and Macao special administrative regions and Taiwan province: 12,401 in Hong Kong (213 had died and 12,115 had been cured and discharged from hospital), 77 in Macao (all had been cured and discharged from hospital) and 16,529 in Taiwan (848 had died and 13,742 had been cured and discharged from hospital).
