Nov 19: Daily briefing on novel coronavirus cases in China

On Nov 18, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland reported 24 new cases of confirmed infections (16 imported cases, 7 in Shanghai municipality, 3 in Guangdong province, 2 in Shandong province, 1 in Liaoning province, 1 in Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region, 1 in Sichuan province and 1 in Yunnan province, including 2 confirmed cases converting from asymptomatic cases, 1 in Guangdong and 1 in Sichuan; 8 indigenous cases, 7 in Dalian, Liaoning and 1 in Zhengzhou, Henan province, including 1 confirmed case converting from an asymptomatic case in Henan), no new cases of suspected infections, and no deaths. 51 patients were released from hospital after being cured. 1,824 people who had had close contact with infected patients were freed from medical observation. Serious cases decreased by 2.

As of 24:00 on Nov 18, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland had reported 9,964 cases of imported confirmed infections and no deaths. In all, 9,578 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 386 confirmed cases (including 2 cases in serious condition) and 2 suspected cases.

As of 24:00 on Nov 18, the National Health Commission had received reports of 98,427 confirmed cases and 4,636 deaths in 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland, and in all 92,585 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 1,206 confirmed cases (including 14 cases in serious condition) and 2 suspected cases. 1,300,757 people had been identified as having had close contact with infected patients. 38,069 were still under medical observation.

On Nov 18, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland reported 26 new asymptomatic cases (25 imported cases; 1 indigenous case in Dehong Dai and Jingpo autonomous prefecture, Yunnan). 18 asymptomatic cases were freed from medical observation (including 17 imported cases) and 3 asymptomatic cases became confirmed cases (including 2 imported cases). As of 24:00 on Nov 18, 499 asymptomatic cases were still under medical observation (including 353 imported cases).

As of 24:00 on Nov 18, 28,978 confirmed infections had been reported in the Hong Kong and Macao special administrative regions and Taiwan province: 12,395 in Hong Kong (213 had died and 12,104 had been cured and discharged from hospital), 77 in Macao (all had been cured and discharged from hospital) and 16,506 in Taiwan (848 had died and 13,742 had been cured and discharged from hospital).
