Celebrity-studded Bazaar China 2021 Charity Night was held in Shenzhen of Guangdong province on Saturday.

A total of 10.23 million yuan ($1.60 million) was raised through auction and donations. All the funds will be contributed to children's arts education in rural areas to support rural revitalization.

"No matter how hard life is, people always hold aspirations for beauty. Even in adversity, the yearning for beauty can enrich people's lives and bring hope to them, which is the original intention of our aesthetics education program," Sha Xiaoli, the executive publisher and editor-in-chief of Bazaar China, explained why they choose "Aesthetics enlighten children's future" as their theme.

As the media leads the fashion trend and spreads aesthetics awareness, Bazaar commits to making children grow up appreciating love and beauty. By contributing to aesthetics education in rural areas, an environment can be created where children will learn to appreciate art and beauty around them.

"Aesthetics has a subtle influence on people, which cannot be quantified or described. We hope that the power of love and beauty will make a difference in children's lives and help them bear through the ups and downs", Sha explained.

Chen Yi, director of Bazaar Charity Fund, said that donations raised this year will be used in "Bazaar · One Hour After Class" aesthetics education project, which supports setting up classrooms for aesthetics education, supplying educational equipment for arts, music, physical education and reading, and providing regular guidance and training for local teachers.

From 2018 to October 2021, the project had raised more than 50 million yuan for children at 109 counties in 16 regions around China. Four hundred and three aesthetics education classrooms have been set up in rural primary schools and more than 200,000 teachers and students have received aesthetics education.

"The greater the influence, the greater the pressure. It is not easy to do charity work and stick to it. There is still a long way to go for aesthetics education and many children are eager for it. We hope that Bazaar China Charity Night can exert its influence and call on more people to join us in supporting aesthetics education as a way to create a brighter tomorrow for rural revitalization", Sha said expressing her expectation.
