Nov 12: Daily briefing on novel coronavirus cases in China

On Nov 11, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland reported 98 new cases of confirmed infections (19 imported cases, 6 in Shanghai municipality, 5 in Yunnan province, 2 in Heilongjiang province, 2 in Guangdong province, 1 in Inner Mongolia autonomous region, 1 in Zhejiang province, 1 in Fujian province and 1 in Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region; 79 indigenous cases, 52 in Dalian, Liaoning province, 12 in Henan province including 6 in Zhengzhou and 6 in Zhoukou, 6 in Beijing municipality including 4 in Haidian district and 2 in Chaoyang district, 5 in Heihe, Heilongjiang, 2 in Xinji, Hebei province, 1 in Shangrao, Jiangxi province and 1 in Dehong Dai and Jingpo autonomous prefecture, Yunnan, including 16 confirmed cases converting from asymptomatic cases, 11 in Henan and 5 in Liaoning), no new cases of suspected infections, and no deaths. 64 patients were released from hospital after being cured. 2,564 people who had had close contact with infected patients were freed from medical observation. The number of serious cases remained unchanged.

As of 24:00 on Nov 11, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland had reported 9,828 cases of imported confirmed infections and no deaths. In all, 9,451 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 377 confirmed cases (including 3 cases in serious condition) and 2 suspected cases.

As of 24:00 on Nov 11, the National Health Commission had received reports of 98,099 confirmed cases and 4,636 deaths in 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland, and in all 92,183 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 1,280 confirmed cases (including 20 cases in serious condition) and 2 suspected cases. 1,293,053 people had been identified as having had close contact with infected patients. 50,507 were still under medical observation.

On Nov 11, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland reported 35 new asymptomatic cases (23 imported cases; 12 indigenous cases, 5 in Dalian, Liaoning, 2 in Alshaa League, Inner Mongolia, 1 in Haidian, Beijing, 1 in Jilin, Jilin province, 1 in Shangrao, Jiangxi, 1 in Zhoukou, Henan, and 1 in Dehong Dai and Jingpo autonomous prefecture, Yunnan). 24 asymptomatic cases were freed from medical observation (including 23 imported cases) and 16 asymptomatic cases became confirmed cases (all were indigenous cases). As of 24:00 on Nov 11, 533 asymptomatic cases were still under medical observation (including 357 imported cases).

As of 24:00 on Nov 11, 28,919 confirmed infections had been reported in the Hong Kong and Macao special administrative regions and Taiwan province: 12,377 in Hong Kong (213 had died and 12,037 had been cured and discharged from hospital), 77 in Macao (76 had been cured and discharged from hospital) and 16,465 in Taiwan (848 had died and 13,742 had been cured and discharged from hospital).
