Nov 4: Daily briefing on novel coronavirus cases in China

On Nov 3, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland reported 104 new cases of confirmed infections (17 imported cases, 5 in Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region, 3 in Shanghai municipality, 3 in Guangdong province, 3 in Yunnan province, 2 in Jilin province and 1 in Shandong province, including 1 confirmed case converting from an asymptomatic case in Guangdong; 87 indigenous cases, 45 in Heilongjiang province including 44 in Heihe and 1 in Harbin, 23 in Hebei province including 20 in Shijiazhuang and 3 in Xinji, 4 in Yinchuan, Ningxia Hui autonomous region, 3 in Changzhou, Jiangsu province, 3 in Henan province including 2 in Zhengzhou and 1 in Zhoukou, 2 in Alshaa League, Inner Mongolia autonomous region, 2 in Chengdu, Sichuan province, 2 in Gansu province including 1 in Lanzhou and 1 in Tianshui, 1 in Rizhao, Shandong, 1 in Shapingba district, Chongqing municipality and 1 in Xining, Qinghai province, including 2 confirmed cases converting from asymptomatic cases, 1 in Shandong and 1 in Sichuan), 3 new cases of suspected infections (all were imported cases in Shanghai), and no deaths. 24 patients were released from hospital after being cured. 2,548 people who had had close contact with infected patients were freed from medical observation. Serious cases decreased by 1.

As of 24:00 on Nov 3, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland had reported 9,687 cases of imported confirmed infections and no deaths. In all, 9,306 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 381 confirmed cases (including 2 cases in serious condition) and 4 suspected cases.

As of 24:00 on Nov 3, the National Health Commission had received reports of 97,527 confirmed cases and 4,636 deaths in 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland, and in all 91,811 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 1,080 confirmed cases (including 36 cases in serious condition) and 4 suspected cases. 1,266,727 people had been identified as having had close contact with infected patients. 41,773 were still under medical observation.

On Nov 3, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland reported 31 new asymptomatic cases (15 imported cases; 16 indigenous cases, 6 in Zhengzhou, Henan, 5 in Shangrao, Jiangxi province, 1 in Harbin, Heilongjiang, 1 in Changzhou, Jiangsu, 1 in Jiaxing, Zhejiang province, 1 in Rizhao, Shandong and 1 in Dehong Dai and Jingpo autonomous prefecture, Yunnan). 6 asymptomatic cases were freed from medical observation (all were imported cases) and 3 asymptomatic cases became confirmed cases (including 1 imported case). As of 24:00 on Nov 3, 406 asymptomatic cases were still under medical observation (including 343 imported cases).

As of 24:00 on Nov 3, 28,857 confirmed infections had been reported in the Hong Kong and Macao special administrative regions and Taiwan province: 12,352 in Hong Kong (213 had died and 12,034 had been cured and discharged from hospital), 77 in Macao (75 had been cured and discharged from hospital) and 16,428 in Taiwan (847 had died and 13,742 had been cured and discharged from hospital).
