Nov 1: Daily briefing on novel coronavirus cases in China

On Oct 31, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland reported 92 new cases of confirmed infections (33 imported cases, 9 in Shanghai municipality, 8 in Zhejiang province, 4 in Yunnan province, 3 in Fujian province, 3 in Shandong province, 3 in Sichuan province, 1 in Inner Mongolia autonomous region, 1 in Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region and 1 in Chongqing municipality, including 12 confirmed cases converting from asymptomatic cases, 8 in Zhejiang, 2 in Sichuan, 1 in Fujian and 1 in Guangxi; 59 indigenous cases, 27 in Heilongjiang province including 25 in Heihe and 2 in Harbin, 10 in Gansu province including 5 in Lanzhou and 5 in Tianshui, 9 in Hebei province including 7 in Shijiazhuang and 2 in Baoding, 6 in Inner Mongolia including 5 in Alshaa League and 1 in Xiliin Gol League, 3 in Yinchuan, Ningxia Hui autonomous region, 1 in Hangzhou, Zhejiang, 1 in Jiujiang, Jiangxi province, 1 in Rizhao, Shandong and 1 in Xining, Qinghai province, including 3 confirmed cases converting from asymptomatic cases in Hebei), 1 new case of suspected infections (an imported case in Shanghai), and no deaths. 37 patients were released from hospital after being cured. 3,717 people who had had close contact with infected patients were freed from medical observation. The number of serious cases remained unchanged.

As of 24:00 on Oct 31, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland had reported 9,637 cases of imported confirmed infections and no deaths. In all, 9,251 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 386 confirmed cases (without cases in serious condition) and 5 suspected cases.

As of 24:00 on Oct 31, the National Health Commission had received reports of 97,243 confirmed cases and 4,636 deaths in 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland, and in all 91,738 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 869 confirmed cases (including 33 cases in serious condition) and 5 suspected cases. 1,255,691 people had been identified as having had close contact with infected patients. 41,548 were still under medical observation.

On Oct 31, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland reported 24 new asymptomatic cases (17 imported cases; 7 indigenous cases, 4 in Shangrao, Jiangxi and 3 in Dehong Dai and Jingpo autonomous prefecture, Yunnan). 10 asymptomatic cases were freed from medical observation (including 9 imported cases) and 15 asymptomatic cases became confirmed cases (including 12 imported cases). As of 24:00 on Oct 31, 398 asymptomatic cases were still under medical observation (including 351 imported cases).

As of 24:00 on Oct 31, 28,835 confirmed infections had been reported in the Hong Kong and Macao special administrative regions and Taiwan province: 12,346 in Hong Kong (213 had died and 12,034 had been cured and discharged from hospital), 77 in Macao (73 had been cured and discharged from hospital) and 16,412 in Taiwan (847 had died and 13,742 had been cured and discharged from hospital).
