Sept 26: Daily briefing on novel coronavirus cases in China

On Sept 25, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland reported 29 new cases of confirmed infections (20 imported cases, 10 in Yunnan province, 4 in Guangdong province, 2 in Inner Mongolia autonomous region, 2 in Shanghai municipality, 1 in Shandong province and 1 in Henan province, including 2 confirmed cases converting from asymptomatic cases in Guangdong; 9 indigenous cases, 5 in Xiamen, Fujian province and 4 in Heilongjiang province - 3 in Harbin and 1 in Suihua), no new cases of suspected infections, and no deaths. 36 patients were released from hospital after being cured. 583 people who had had close contact with infected patients were freed from medical observation. The number of serious cases remained unchanged.

As of 24:00 on Sept 25, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland had reported 8,955 cases of imported confirmed infections and no deaths. In all, 8,431 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 524 confirmed cases (including 4 cases in serious condition) and 4 suspected cases.

As of 24:00 on Sept 25, the National Health Commission had received reports of 96,015 confirmed cases and 4,636 deaths in 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland, and in all 90,366 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 1,013 confirmed cases (including 12 cases in serious condition) and 4 suspected cases. 1,187,461 people had been identified as having had close contact with infected patients. 19,775 were still under medical observation.

On Sept 25, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland reported 14 new asymptomatic cases (12 imported cases, and 2 indigenous cases in Suihua, Heilongjiang). 10 asymptomatic cases were freed from medical observation (all were imported cases) and 2 (imported cases) became confirmed cases. As of 24:00 on Sept 25, 350 asymptomatic cases were still under medical observation (including 340 imported cases).

As of 24:00 on Sept 25, 28,432 confirmed infections had been reported in the Hong Kong and Macao special administrative regions and Taiwan province: 12,185 in Hong Kong (213 had died and 11,891 had been cured and discharged from hospital), 66 in Macao (63 had been cured and discharged from hospital) and 16,181 in Taiwan (841 had died and 13,742 had been cured and discharged from hospital).
