Sept 25: Daily briefing on novel coronavirus cases in China

On Sept 24, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland reported 38 new cases of confirmed infections (28 imported cases, 9 in Guangdong province, 7 in Yunnan province, 6 in Shanghai municipality, 1 in Beijing municipality, 1 in Tianjin municipality, 1 in Liaoning province, 1 in Fujian province, 1 in Hubei province and 1 in Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region; 10 indigenous cases, 8 in Harbin, Heilongjiang province and 2 in Fujian - 1 in Putian and 1 in Xiamen), 2 new cases of suspected infections (both were imported cases in Shanghai), and no deaths. 27 patients were released from hospital after being cured. 560 people who had had close contact with infected patients were freed from medical observation. Serious cases decreased by 4.

As of 24:00 on Sept 24, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland had reported 8,935 cases of imported confirmed infections and no deaths. In all, 8,412 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 523 confirmed cases (including 4 cases in serious condition) and 4 suspected cases.

As of 24:00 on Sept 24, the National Health Commission had received reports of 95,986 confirmed cases and 4,636 deaths in 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland, and in all 90,330 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 1,020 confirmed cases (including 12 cases in serious condition) and 4 suspected cases. 1,186,155 people had been identified as having had close contact with infected patients. 19,052 were still under medical observation.

On Sept 24, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland reported 14 new asymptomatic cases (all were imported cases). 14 asymptomatic cases were freed from medical observation (all were imported cases) and no asymptomatic cases became confirmed cases. As of 24:00 on Sept 24, 348 asymptomatic cases were still under medical observation (including 340 imported cases).

As of 24:00 on Sept 24, 28,417 confirmed infections had been reported in the Hong Kong and Macao special administrative regions and Taiwan province: 12,176 in Hong Kong (213 had died and 11,888 had been cured and discharged from hospital), 65 in Macao (63 had been cured and discharged from hospital) and 16,176 in Taiwan (841 had died and 13,742 had been cured and discharged from hospital).
