WUHAN -- A monograph titled "Principles and Practice of COVID-19" compiled by more than 100 medical experts from around the world was launched in central China's Wuhan, capital city of Hubei Province, on Wednesday.

Written in Chinese and English, the book covers research fields such as epidemiological features, pathogenesis, and medical technologies related to the novel coronavirus.

The book, published by China Science Publishing & Media Ltd., expounds the clinical treatment methods and principles of COVID-19 with typical treatment cases during Wuhan's fight against the epidemic in 2020. Some pictures and data in the monograph have been published for the first time.

"China's experience and lessons here will be a valuable contribution to an evidence-based approach to the pandemic. I'm very much looking forward to the publication of the book to provide information on the fight against this pandemic and future challenges," said Dr. Gauden Galea, WHO representative in China, via video link at the book's launch.

At the launch ceremony, 4,000 copies of the monograph were donated to the Red Cross Society of China, which will then be donated to medical institutes at home and abroad through the foundation to help fight the pandemic.
