1,300-year-old guqin -- an imperial wedding dowry from Tang Dynasty

Hand-made by guqin master Lei Wei in 714, the afterglow-style "Caifeng Mingqi" stringed guqin was an imperial wedding dowry. It is now a precious treasure of the Zhejiang Provincial Museum.

With a coating of vermillion lacquer, the long zither got its lyrical name comes from the ever-changing glow of the sunset and the consonant cry of a phoenix.
