New Baojun's Kiwi EV hits market

The Kiwi EV, a new Baojun-branded model of SAIC-GM-Wuling, hits the market on Tuesday.

The model, available in two variants, is priced from 69,800 yuan ($10,791) to 78,800 yuan.

SAIC-GM-Wuling said it received over 6,000 orders by Monday since the model started its pre-sales on Aug 11.

The model adopts the two-tone design, with a mix of two distinct colors, to create the visual effects of a floating cockpit. It is available in six color combinations.

It has a 40 kW electric motor which generates a top torque of 150 Nm and has a driving range of 305 km on one charge.

It measures 2,625 mm in length, 1,647 in width and 1,588 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 1,750 mm.

In terms of smart functions, the model sports Baojun's 2.0 system, which is capable of voice command, update online as well as remote control via its application.

It also has ADAS functions including adaptive cruise control as well as automatic emergency braking.
