Dongfeng's premium marque Voyah offered a glimpse into its 4.0 digitalized plant in Wuhan, Hubei province, on Aug 27.
Voyah launched its first model, the electric FREE SUV in June, and its deliveries started in August.
The event on Friday allows fans and customers to learn more about how the model is manufactured.
The plant has four workshops, and the first of them is the stamping workshop. It process four pieces of metal a second, and the precise procedures ensure that the product's error will be within 0.1 mm.
The welding workshop is 99 percent automatic thanks to the 400 robots and its laser welding technique. Voyah said the workshop can do welding for up to six different models.
Automation is 100 percent at the painting workshop, where six colors are available.
At the assembly workshop, thanks to Voyah's digital tools, everything about any vehicle is traceable, ranging from its software version to its configurations.
Voyah plans to launch at least one model a year. In five years, its products will be available in the sedan, SUV and MPV segments, said the carmaker.
