More than 100 gold fish are on exhibition in the water tanks, which have been strategically placed so that the plants are fully exposed to sunlight while visitors can appreciate them in the shade.
Chenshan will be hosting a design competition for cultural merchandise featuring the botanic garden and waterlilies. Three winners will be announced on Sept 15 when the exhibition concludes.
The garden is also extending invitations to children who weigh no more than 30 kilograms to have their photos taken while sitting on the giant leaves of royal waterlilies.
Scientists at Chenshan will also host public lectures during the exhibition to share their expertise and experience of nurturing these water plants.
