Xuanmenwan national wetland park was recently listed among the first batch of Zhejiang provincial water conservancy projects.

Located in Yuhuan, a county-level city in Taizhou, the park covers a total area of 31.48 square meters and has 475 species of wild and cultivated plants and 154 species of birds.

In 2008, the park was designated a national water conservancy scenic spot. In 2016, the park was designated as a national wetland park. Four years later, it was rated a national 4A scenic spot, the second highest level in China's grading system for scenic attractions.

The coastal area of the wetland park is one of the largest habitats for wild black-billed gulls in China and a wintering area for black-faced spoonbill, a rare endangered bird.

Due to its well-preserved ecological environment and beautiful natural scenery, the park has been awarded the title of best ecological protection wetland in China and listed among the top 10 most beautiful wetlands in Zhejiang province.

A museum has been built in the park to showcase its ecological system and achievements in nature preservation.

There are eight primary scenic attractions in the park. In addition to admiring birds like spoonbill and wild ducks, visitors can also admire flowers like reed, rose and lotus.
